Anthony “Tony” George Jr, age 81, of Seminole, FL, passed away on March 30th, 2025. He was born in Detroit, MI, to Anthony Sr and Anna (John) George. Raised in Detroit, Tony graduated from Denby High School and during this time he met the love of his life, Charlene Regan. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force. He served our country honorably during the Vietnam War. When he returned, he and Charlene married and started a family.

Tony began work in a financial institution, eventually working his way up to being the President of Knights of Columbus Credit Union in East Detroit. After retiring from the Credit Union, Tony and Charlene moved to St. Petersburg and opened a bagel store on Madeira Beach.

He always enjoyed playing cards, being especially fond of Euchre. Tony had great luck at slot machines and would play anywhere he could find a slot machine. They enjoyed bowling with their children when together as a family.

Tony was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Charlene Regan George; his parents; and his step-grandson Kenneth Brady.

He is survived by his sons Christopher (Cheri) George of Dryden, Michigan and Daniel (Paula) George of Clearwater, FL; grandson William of Michigan and step-granddaughter Brittany of Maryland; sisters Antoinette, Anita and Anna and brother Roger. He is also survived by many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A public visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th, from 11:00am – 12:30pm at Veterans Funeral Care, 830 N. Belcher Rd, Clearwater, FL 33765. A funeral service followed the visitation at 12:30pm.

Anthony will be laid to rest with United States Air Force Military Honors at Bay Pines National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Disabled American Veterans.
