Edward Joseph Pontis passed away peacefully at his home in Palm Harbor, FL, on March 3, 2024. Formerly a long-time resident of Hookstown, PA, Ed was born in Aliquippa, PA, on March 13, 1932. He graduated from Aliquippa High School and the Community College of Beaver County. Serving four years in the Navy as an aviation electronics “Airdale,” he later retired from the HH Robertson Company in Ambridge, PA, but continued to work in maintenance at the Aliquippa Hospital until its eventual closing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Pontis, mother, Margaret Pontis, and brother, Steve. Edward is survived by his brother, Robert (Bugsy) Pontis, his loving wife, Marlene (Cookie) Pontis, son Edward Pontis, daughter Kimberly Alford, and son-in-law Colan Alford. Additionally, he is survived by three grandchildren: Brandon Pontis, Dustin Pontis, and Kimberly Pontis, as well as five great-grandchildren: Mason Pontis, Madison Pontis, Gavin Pontis, Sydney Pontis, and Brodie Pontis.

A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church in Dunedin, FL, at a date to be announced.
