Lyle Schmidt of Weeki Wachee, FL, passed away on February 3rd peacefully at the age of 67 after a long battle with cancer. Lyle was born to the late Glen & Joyce Schmidt of Callicoon Center, NY. He is survived by his partner Carole, his two brothers Daniel Schmidt and his wife Lorrie of Monticello NY, Dale Schmidt and his wife Debbie of Narrowsburg, NY, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Lyle was an outdoor enthusiast who loved to deer hunt & fish. He worked most of his life as a carpenter and loved his job. Lyle will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. All contributions are requested to be made to the American Cancer Society.

Lyle became a good friend though his (spouse). I met him before Cancer did! He was such a good person, with such a pure heart. When I met him, he was working for Home Depot. He loved his job, and he loved his co-workers. He loved LIFE! He was always ready to talk about anything to do with Carpentry. He worked hard every day to be sure that they would have the things they needed. and did a good job of it.
I remember him going hunting in New York and sending this picture when he got back to Fl. and how proud he was of that deer.
I will miss his “good morning, Linda” text and calling when I needed (how to) advice. I’ll miss telling you good morning and chatting with you when Carole would call me or I would call her, with/for updates on how you were doing. I saw you the day before you left this world. I’m glad I made the trip.
