It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nathaniel Mims, age 58, on March 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Nathaniel was born in the Bronx, New York City, to Yvonne Dudley and Nathaniel Mims Sr. He was the youngest of seven siblings and leaves behind four sisters, two brothers, many nieces and nephews, and six beloved grandchildren.
Nathaniel’s life was one of passion, strength, and love. He was a proud father to Robert Morales, Nathaniel Rhem, Natalie Rhem, Ramsey Rhem, and Greg Mims. He also leaves behind his mother, Yvonne Rhem-Tittle, and stepfather, James Tittle. He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Mims Sr.
A true “Jack of all trades,” Nathaniel was a handyman, full-time entrepreneur, and a steady presence in his daughter’s dance and yoga studio. He was known for his work ethic, generosity, and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. His pride in his family was evident in everything he did, always saying, “Family first.”
Nathaniel was a passionate football fan, with a special love for the New York Giants. He also loved dancing, bringing joy to any gathering with his lively spirit. His positive attitude was contagious, and he was truly the life of the party.
His proudest achievement was being a grandfather. His grandchildren were the light of his life. His children, too, were his greatest joy, and he always spoke with immense pride about them. Although he could be stern at times, Nathaniel’s heart was full of love, and his words were always thoughtful, wise, and filled with care, offering advice that was cherished by all who knew him. Nathaniel was always there for his family, serving as their bodyguard and confidant, and his presence will be profoundly missed.
A memorial service to honor Nathaniel’s life will be held on April 5th, 2025, from 12 PM to 2 PM at the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve in St. Petersburg, FL.
Condolences and cards may be sent to his daughter, Natalie Rhem, at 9101 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. North, #206, St. Petersburg, FL 33702.
Nathaniel Mims will be remembered for the deep impact he made on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.

Baby brother I will always love you. You were the youngest and I am the oldest of seven. My fondest memory was when we lived in Washington ave. in the South Bronx; when you were first born I would kiss you so much you would cry 🙃. Mommy would say
“Leave the baby alone “
